The Signing of the Hamilton Charter for Gender Equity
Presented at the FHS Women's Symposium: Building Alliances for the Future, on March 31st, 2022.

"The Hamilton Charter for Promoting Gender Equity in Healthcare is a consortium of organizations in the greater Hamilton, Niagara and Waterloo areas dedicated to excellence in health care and health education working together to advance gender equity. These organizations aim to improve workplace satisfaction by creating a health system free from sexual harassment and regular microaggressions, where such behaviours are not tolerated. The consortium unites health care and health education professionals
committed to ending discrimination and to changing the culture to advance gender equity and inclusion... Members of the consortium will work together to develop innovative approaches to bring about gender equity for women of many ethno-racial backgrounds. Most importantly, we will measure and demonstrate our progress with regard to gender equity. Ultimately, our shared goal is to enhance inclusion for all." - The Hamilton Charter for Promoting Gender Equity in Healthcare
The MacPherson Institute Presents: Course (re)Design Workshop
Tuesday, May 10th till Thursday, May 12th, 2022
9:30am-11:30am EDT & 1:00pm-3:30pm EDT

The Course (re)Design Workshop aims to engage and support academic staff in designing or redesigning a course. The Workshop includes facilitated sessions on course design topics, including constructive alignment, learning outcomes, teaching and learning activities, and assessment; the Workshop also includes dedicated time for individual work and/or peer feedback and/or consultation time. The structure of the Workshop encourages participants to focus on a single course design while developing skills applicable to course design more generally. While the focus of the Workshop is on in-person or blended course design, many of the course design principles discussed will be applicable to other formats.
