Do-It-Yourself
Mentorship Playbook

We've been working hard with a Divisions of Emergency Medicine team to put together this amazing book for you about mentorship. For both Academics & Clinicians, this book aims to help you raise the bar in mentorship by providing you with worksheets and resources.

The FHS Inclusive Teaching CoP is a new community of practice for instructors in the Faculty of Health Sciences to learn more about inclusive teaching practices. The goal of the CoP is to provide Faculty of Health Science instructors with a space to share experiences, exchange resources, and learn more about instructional strategies for inclusive teaching in academic and clinical learning environments. The CoP also aims to create a series of recommended, actionable items to share with the Faculty of Health Sciences to improve policies and increase supports for inclusive teaching within the faculty.

They will be having two meetings in the Winter term:
  • Inclusive Approaches to Clinical Reasoning: February 2, 2022, 1-2:30pm
  • Gender Inclusive Teaching: March 2, 2022, 1-2:30pm
The February meeting will focus on β€œInclusive Approaches to Clinical Reasoning” – exploring the fundamentals of teaching clinical reasoning and tips to manage implicit biases

If you would like to join the community of practice email list to receive meeting invites and resources, please fill out this form. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Celeste Suart (suartce@mcmaster.ca).

This excellent resource will help take your powerpoint presentations from the 90s to on fleek (that's millenial for 'cool'). Get tips on how to choose your colours, fonts and how to use your layout to augment what you're saying, instead of detracting.
