I wouldn't have picked this book as an academic. It was given to me by colleagues in academia and I found out why. It describes a large study of companies that made the leap from good to great, and what traits/behaviours they had, that other non-leaping companies did not have. I began to see a lot of parallels to successful scholars - find what you are really good at and passionate about and stick to it, don't re-invent yourself, stay the course, get the right people 'on your bus' and the wrong people off your bus. Aside from the usefulness of the concepts that can be applied anywhere (think of your scholarly program and team as your 'business'), it's a great piece of science from the business world too. |

MacPFD has transformed the ways in which we support and build the skills of faculty members and senior trainees who teach and mentor our students by transitioning all development offerings to online learning opportunities. In the last year we have provided open access to more than 3,000 faculty members and guests to over 100 digital events including webinars, conferences, podcasts, articles, and video content. We have 7 teams with over 50 faculty member volunteers developing new content and online training opportunities.
Have you joined one of our events this past year? Perhaps youβve listened to our Spark podcast? Viewed one of our videos on YouTube? We need your help to keep creating this incredible content, and keeping it free to the public! Interested in helping?
When you make a gift, you will join the effort to inspire the development of teaching and learning and allow our researchers, scholars, leaders, and clinicians to achieve success as educators. Your gift will support MacPFD to continue to generate new freely available events and maintain an open access digital library.
