MacPFD Blast:
Delivering development to your inbox

MacPFD is pleased to offer new digital content and we are continually developing new resources to support faculty development. This newsletter will regularly highlight featured content and promote our blogs, podcasts, recorded webinars, and other online resources.
The Faculty of Health Sciences Office of Health Research Services is linking up with the Program for Faculty Development to conduct a needs assessment for researchers within our faculty. We want your help to discover what new ways we can support and grow research within our already amazing faculty.

Clinical Scholarship: Advancing the Art & Science of Quality Improvement
Originally presented as part of MacPFD14, on May 25th, 2021

Dr. Shawn Mondoux
The prevailing forces in clinical and academic medicine are driving the inclusion and development of the science of Quality Improvement (QI): clinicians and faculty are being hired for it, journals are creating sections to publish it, promotion processes are creating rubrics for it and we are talking about it. Yet a lack of clarity persists around defining and conducting QI scholarship.

In this blog, you can hear an interesting perspective on Covid-19 vaccination issues in India and Africa. You can not imagine how expensive would be (cost of) one vaccination in this region of the World, if it will come from major vaccine producer(s)? Plus other additional issues with storing the vaccines. Well, other options had to be developed like the one discussed in the blog (Covishield), this vaccine would be much more affordable and easily distributed.
